Daniel Allen
Daniel is Missio’s Leader Development Director and Architect of the MCAP. He has coached and consulted with leaders since his first ministry assignment in 1981. He worked as a youth pastor and pastor prior to founding his coaching ministry in 1990. Since then he has helped emerging and established leaders deepen their relationship with God, get clarity on their calling, and sketch out next steps for living it out. He’s been a coach to church planters of the attractional and missional tribes, helped start an attractional church that imploded, and started a missional community that did two things well: gathering and going.
He and his wife Lainie now live in Knoxville TN where they are part of Old North Abbey, an experimental monastic community, and they are nurturing an initiative to make Knoxville a more leaderful city – calling forth and preparing emerging leaders to lead for the life of the city. Along the way a ton of emerging leaders have influenced Daniel’s journey – introducing him to the missional bug, dark coffee, fine wines and bitters, and Lady Gaga (just kidding there). He enjoys having people over and firing up the grill, any Lee Child novel except Echo Burning, snuggling up with Lainie, playing chase with his grandson Owen, hosting cultural event parties, and remains in pursuit of the elusive goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
